Minwax has a large footprint at Menards, including a specialized color center at numerous locations. The existing Minwax inspiration brochure featured in the color center was produced before the introduction of the new water-based Wood Finish Color Stain offering, which introduced a solid opacity — featuring color matching — as well as a refreshed 240+ color assortment. This meant we had some wonderful new photography to use, and a great new story to tell. From the front cover, where Minwax empowers its customers to imagine endless possibilities, the brand signals its color leadership via spread after spread of inspirational (and approachable) projects. Handy captioning let shoppers know what stain and protective topcoat was used on each photo, as well as what Dutch Boy paint was used on each wall — meaning they could go right from the color center to the fully-stocked Menards shelves confident in a colorful, professional outcome.
